Sleep Apnea can be helped using oral surgery. There are three types of procedures that we perform:

1.	Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP): This procedure in performed in a hospital using general anesthesia and is the removal of excess tissue in the throat, this tissue is what causes vibration and blockage in the upper air passages.
2.	Maxillomandibular advancement: This procedure involves both the upper and lower part of the jaw. In this procedure, you jaw bone is moved forward from the rest of the facial bones. This process allows more room behind the soft palate, thereby reducing the obstruction.
3.	Tracheostomy: This procedure is when other treatments have failed. This involves the surgeon inserting a tube in your throat helping you breathe at night. It is covered during the day, but opens while you sleep at night.
